第四首哀歌 (行數以原文為準)
3 行：...Ueberholt und spaet, …被超過了、遲了，
這裡譯者將 ueberholt 理解為 ueberholen 的過去分詞
如果直接當形容詞看，是「陳舊的、過時的」。
15 行：ein Grund von Gegenteil bereitet, ... 預備下了反差的底色，…
這一行是極優美的理解和譯筆。
19-20 行：Wer sass nicht bang vor seines Herzens Vorhang?/Der schlug sich auf: die Szenerie war Abschied. 誰坐在他心的幕前不焦慮？它開了：場景是離別。
「他心的」易生誤解，這裡的意思應該是「他自己的心」，但若是「他心的」初看起來像是指另外一個人的心（我猜測譯者有某些格律上的顧忌？或者是想表現原文的節奏感？）；又，「開了」感覺並不是很生動，這裡是指心之簾幕被拉起來了，似乎譯成「升起了」較好；最後的 war 在中文裡就不好譯，但這裡用過去式相當重要，因為這整首哀歌都充滿著下一思想：死並不是生的將來，而是從生起就始終伴隨著它的，不，不只是這樣，死甚至比生還要早，因此場景打開始就是「離別」。這裡倒是可以從上半句的「它開了」中的「了」意會到一點過去的味道。
36 行：…Es giebt immer Zuschaun. …總會有觀看的。
這裡 Zuschaun 是動詞的名詞化，但中譯可以有兩種解釋：總會有觀看（這一行動），或者是總會有觀看著的（人）。（之前 22 行對 Taenzer 的翻譯就是「跳舞的」----個人更偏好譯為「舞者」----因此更容易讓讀者在順著閱讀下來的時候偏向後一種解釋。）
56 行：…der die Baelge hochreisst. …把那些殼套朝天迸裂了。
譯者似乎是取 hoch-reissen 之意。如果查辭典的 hochreissen 詞條，會給出「陡直上升」這個翻譯。我不清楚在里爾克那個時代究竟是怎麼用這個字的，而譯者對里爾克學有專精，只得暫時存疑之。
71 行：…in unserem Alleingehn, …在我們獨自一人時，
這樣似乎只譯出了 allein 而沒有譯出 gehn。下幾行的 Dauerndem, Zwischenraume, Vorgang 都強烈地表達出「過渡」、「過程」的味道。這裡我更偏好直譯，「在我們的獨行中…」。
84 行：…nicht boes zu sein, ....還不慍怒，
我無法理解為什麼死亡會「不慍怒」，也許這是譯者對里爾克的特別理解所導致的？但我自己讀來是覺得，如果譯成「還不是惡」或者「尚非邪惡」會更自然一些 （也就是說，在這個生命之前就出現的死不像物質性的死，物質性的死被活著的我們看成是惡，但里爾克理解的死卻正好是生的另一面，它還不是惡也不會是惡）。
